The Flowtrail Schwarzsee offers pure biking fun in the middle of the Fribourg Prealps. With flowing corners, small waves, and dreamlike views of the Schwarzsee, the trail is perfect for those who want to combine riding pleasure and nature. Whether as a relaxed after-work loop or a sporty trail adventure – every mountain bike fan will get their money's worth here. Between Riggisalp and Schwarzsee, the trail leads through a varied landscape of forests, pastures, and impressive views of the lake and mountains. With a length of 3.6 kilometers and 427 meters of descent, the trail is classified as moderately difficult in the upper section and easy further down. A separate entrance to the lower section (Start Blau) provides families and beginners with younger children with particularly easy access. A gentle track with playfully designed obstacles ensures a smooth, relaxed riding experience on the bike. Those looking for more action will find additional, technically more demanding elements along the route. These are deliberately designed so that less experienced riders can easily bypass them at any time via a "Safe Line".

Done on September 2024, actually much more difficult than S2/S3, for sure S4 in some parts. Some parts not doable on the bike, and some others were not doable that day because of the thick mud. But honestly I would choose another way around this trail next time.

You can enjoy the 3.12 km Modzon Flow Trail (N°801) or the 3.23 km Poya Flow Trail (N°802) for enjoyable descents. For a more technical ride, the 2.045 km Tché Don Enduro Trail (N°804) offers a fast line with natural alpine features, gaps, and drops, blending speed with technical challenges.
Yes, the Charmey Pumptrack is an excellent family-friendly option. Located at the foot of the lifts near the Charmey Cable Car Station, this freely accessible pumptrack is designed for riders of all ages and skill levels, including beginners and children on bikes or scooters. It allows riders to maintain speed using pumping movements without pedaling, providing a safe and fun environment for skill development.
For challenging singletrack, consider the Mountain bike trail through the roots, which requires concentration on roots and laid boards. Another option is the Poil de Chien Downhill Trail, known for its challenging forest terrain. The Challenging Nature Singletrack Trail also offers a demanding ride with rewarding viewpoints.

The best time to visit bike parks in the Gruyère District is typically during the warmer months when trails are dry and lifts are operational. For trails with natural features like roots and boards, such as the Mountain bike trail through the roots, it's recommended to visit after a few dry days to avoid muddy and slippery conditions.
