Currently 27.4.26 due to the removal of 100 oaks in catastrophic condition. Not really walkable. Don't even think about it with a bike.

On my tour it was a long ascent! Directly along the federal highway.

A small, idyllic hamlet near Ansbach. According to an information sign in the center, the village has 64 inhabitants. It's somewhat secluded and not on the main road. This allows children to grow up in a rural idyll, get to know animals up close (e.g., cows), and play together outdoors. However, as the children get older, they might find it a bit quiet, as it's a very remote area. There might be one or two farmers who sell their produce directly from their farms, but for most shopping, a car is necessary. The bus schedule wasn't apparent. It can get quite cold in winter, as the hamlet lies below Elpersdorf in a small depression.

The coats of arms above the archway depict highlights of Ansbach's history. In front of the building are two sculptures by Thomas Röthel, "Horizontal Development" and a stele commemorating the Ansbach resistance. The imposing palace opposite was designed by the Swiss court architect Gabriel de Gabrieli. Ansbach's weekly market takes place on Wednesdays and Saturdays on Martin Luther Square, a visit to which is highly recommended. The "Bach Column" by Jürgen Goertz depicts the life and work of Johann Sebastian Bach. The first eye-catcher is the Margrave George Fountain, built in 1515 and last renovated in the 19th century. Ansbach's old town is a great starting point for your tours. Cafés and restaurants await you in the center, along with its historic houses. If you have enough time, a visit to the Residence and its castle is worthwhile.
