The remnants of a much bigger forest, high on a hill. Very atmospheric place.

This is a fantastic route of the Malvern Hills MTB or fine on a gravel bike. It follows a loop of the lower parts of the main hill tops but can easily divert and go on top (as I did to Pinnacle Hill) the trail is either nice gravel or with long wooded sections of wider single track and a little technical in places. It is hilly, so prepare to climb. Highly recommend 👌

Great fire track fast downhill, some sharper bends at the bottom section especially at speed 👍

Although originally made up of ancient royal chases and deer parks, the forest we see today was largely planted by the Forestry Commission in the 1920s. It was named after the Mortimer Family, Norman Lords who held power over the region for some 300 years.

Climbed it on 42mm tyres with bags, I reckon it's easier than the central climbs by virtue of being shorter. Takes you out onto a gorgeous forest road that leads to a view point.
