Papscanee Island Nature Preserve is a great place for some easy trail running. There usually aren't very many crowds like there can be when you hit the trails closer to town, and there are a few different trail and loop options you can take. There are a couple parking lots on different sides of the preserve as well.

There is a picnic table here near the banks of the river. You can actually walk out onto the shore and look up and down the river in different directions. There are usually boats out in the water, but you are far enough away from the city that this is a pretty peaceful area.
