The authorities of Ternopil, which became the provincial capital in 1921, wished to emphasize the importance of the city by erecting important buildings. The initiative for erecting the monument came from the command of the 54th Infantry Regiment stationed in the city. In 1932 (when Piłsudski was still alive) the Provincial Committee for the Construction of the Marshal's Monument in Ternopil was established under the chairmanship of Wacław Żyborski. From the beginning the idea was to build a monumental work. Thanks to a generous fundraiser, the residents of Podolia collected PLN 134,046.26. In 1933 a competition was announced among Polish artists, the winners of which were Bazyli Wojtowicz and Józef Proszowski from Warsaw, whose project was chosen for realization. For reasons that are not clear, the monument was finally erected according to a design by the Warsaw architect Apolinary Głowiński from Ternopil, whose monument to Adam Mickiewicz was erected in the city as early as 1923[3]. The frame was designed by Eng. arch. Wawrzyniec Dayczak (Translated from Wikipedia).

One of the oldest parishes in the diocese. Its origins go back to the 12th century. In 1221 Duke Leszek the White donated the village to the monastery in Sulejów. In the 15th century the bishop of Kraków had his estate here and he had the right to found the parish. By the end of the 19th century, the commune included the territory of the commune of Annopol and a village beyond the Vistula. In addition, it was equipped with farmland and meadows. In addition to the pastor, there were 1 or 2 vicars in the parish and in the 18th century there was also a bailiff. A hospital is mentioned in the 18th century and the library held several works. In religious life there were brotherhoods that prayed the rosary, among other things. The archive contains, among other things, records of baptisms, marriages and deaths since 1811 (translated from Wikipedia).

The Polish Catholic community (at that time the church was still called the Polish National Catholic Church) in Swieciechow Duże was founded in 1928. At the time, Rev. Lorentz, then a Roman Catholic priest who was inspired by the teachings of the National Church, delivered a sermon on an April Sunday criticizing the heirs for forcing their subjects to attend church every Sunday go while they themselves did not go. A few days later, the Roman Catholic dean and several priests arrived at the congregation in Swieciechowa to pick up Father Lorentz and fill the congregation with a new pastor. The parishioners fought back against the church dignitaries. Various secular and church delegations arrived in Świeciechów, and the missionaries began to reprimand the rebellious parishioners, especially their pastor, in their sermons. In order to prevent the idea of a national church from spreading in Świeciechów, a periodical entitled Rycerz Niepokalanej (Knights of the Immaculate) was sent to every nationalist, in which not only the priests, but also the faithful who had left Rome were slandered in the worst way. The village chiefs, who were obliged to distribute the magazine to the recipients, burned it. Although the nationalists were in an absolute majority, they had to bow to the law. Father Lorentz left the vicarage and moved to a trailer. At the same time, on June 24, 1928, the day of St. John the Baptist, an altar was erected on Jan Sobolewski Square to celebrate mass and other services there. This was the beginning of the congregation of the Polish National Catholic Church. It was decided to convert the fire station into a place of worship and services began. This did not last long, for another blow to the nationalists soon followed. The firemen's union demanded the return of the fire station. It was then decided to build a new fire station and within two weeks the work was completed. On May 19, 2010, Świeciechów was flooded by the Vistula River, which broke through the earthen embankments. The parish of St. John the Baptist in Świeciechów was particularly hard hit, as half of the church was flooded and the parish buildings were almost completely destroyed. On the same day, Bishop Prof. Wiktor Wysoczański called on the faithful of the Church to collect money for all those affected (Translated from Wikipedia).

Monument of inanimate nature. The town of Łany "Źródliska". Water flows from the ground creating beautiful water and sand geysers. An interesting fact is that the water temperature has been invariably 10.2–10.30 C for years, regardless of the season. Water from the springs is drinkable (spring water), has a very good taste with a low content of chlorides.
