July 2026 update; Good with a small tent. Mostly gravel/sand. I pitched at the far end where there's also some grass and moss to hold your pegs. Clean, heated toilet building, with hot water and even some plugs to charge devices. Drinking water and garbage bins outside. Picknicktables. Super quiet, at least on a rainy evening. The nearby parking has a 'no camping' sign, but there are none around (trail to) the beach. Seems fine, but keep it clean and leave no trace.

When I visited in July 2024, it didn't look so great here. But there was a new picnic area (picture) and a wooden hut was under construction. The hut will probably be a toilet. Camping here might be difficult as many areas are gravelled. Perhaps someone can add information here in 2025 when the construction work is finished.

the dry toilet was locked. You cannot stay overnight in the hut itself. Swimming is possible. Overall an idyllic place.

Hardly any space for a tent and also popular with canoeists. 100 m south there is another pitch for a tent.

The area north of Aursunden, specifically at Sakrisvolden, is the only place in the Nordic countries where the Siberian primrose (Sibirstjerne) grows. Additionally, the Molinga nature reserve at the north-western end of Aursunden is an important nesting and resting area for birds. You can also visit Oases, a small wetland locals refer to as 'The Oasis' due to its unique setting where reindeer often appear.
