Great place for a stopover during a snowshoe hike over the lakes. The fire was already on at the time we arrived. Next time we need to bring our sausages.

Although this Skiyhytta originates from cross-country skiiing, I am sure a winter ride on the bike will be fun. It is serviced from January to April. The toilet was open and clean and I guess this is the case throughout the year. Limited terrain to pitch a tent though.

Sandsletta has been welcoming campers for over 60 years and is a great base for adventures on Austvågøya. There's space for tent pitches, as well as 22 cabins. The restaurant serves great local food, while there's a convenience store for resupply too.

What the photos don't show... the area in front of the cabin is packed with camper vans (at least that was the case at the end of June), and in good weather, the cabin is a real oven. There are also beautiful wild camping spots 5-7 km in either direction.
