November 15, 2025, Parco della Pace

Il Parco della Pace is a fenced green area of 630 thousand square meters north of Vicenza. The park is crossed by over 8 km of paths, with footbridges, fords, country lanes and dirt cycle paths. There are small hills, islands, tall and flowery meadows, mown fields, woods with trees and shrubs, a canal system over 9 km long that connects ponds and wetlands. The area is ideal for walks, outdoor activities and moments of tranquility, thanks to the presence of tree-lined paths, large green areas and shaded zones. There are benches, children's play areas, picnic and barbecue areas, and spaces dedicated to cultural events and sports activities. There are two areas reserved for off-leash dogs, which must be kept on a leash in the rest of the park. In the various environments present, numerous species of wild animals can be observed, including coots, herons, little egrets, cormorants, Black-winged Stilts, hares, roe deer, turtles, frogs, dragonflies and fish. Strongly desired by the municipal administration of Vicenza as compensation for the construction of the American base "Renato Del Din" with which it borders, the Parco della Pace - created in the area once occupied by the "Tommaso Dal Molin" airport - is also a symbolic place for the Vicenza community, dedicated to memory and reflection, with installations and spaces that promote the values of non-violence, respect and civil coexistence.

April 28, 2022, Lago di Camazzole

Located west of the Brenta, the Brenta Cycle Path passes this lake. A good place to cool off. Rather more of a gravel than an MTB highlight.

The Brenta cycle path is a route that follows the Brenta river from Trento to Venice. The route is mixed, sometimes paved and sometimes dirt. This particular stretch has a good dirt road, which can be traveled on with all types of bikes when dry. Coming from the south, the basin of the former Giaretta quarries is visible on the left, resulting from the filling of the former gravel pit by the waters of the river.
