The Ochsenweg varies from a solid dirt road with various ruts to a sandy, challenging surface. I recommend a bike with tires that are at least 50 mm wide and low air pressure of up to three bar. Then you can easily pull yourself through the sandy sections and comfortably over the solid, rutted sections. The Ochsenweg is mostly unspectacular today. You ride it as a reminder of the historical times.
