A beautiful sandy beach with a sunbathing lawn and plenty of shaded areas right on Lake Rangsdorf. Here you can find a spot even in midsummer. The lido is a bit old, but it certainly exudes charm.

Seebad-Casino on Rangsdorf Lake

Highlight • Restaurant

Today's "Seehotel Berlin-Brandenburg" is located directly on Lake Rangsdorf.

In the 1920s, a first sales facility, simple seating and changing rooms as well as sanitary facilities were built on the beach. By 1928 more buildings were built on the beach and the bathing area was now called "Seebad".

In 1929 the municipality bought a large glass hall in Berlin, which had originally been built in 1896 for the trade exhibition in Berlin-Treptow. It initially served as a beer hall in Berlin before finding its way to Rangsdorf. It was rebuilt there in 1930 next to the outdoor pool. The "Beach Casino" had 1,500 seats and another 5,000 seats outside in front of it. In the 1930 season, Rangsdorf had over 100,000 guests. In 1934, the "Strand-Casino" was completely redesigned and renamed the "Seebad-Casino".

After 1945, owners and operators changed several times before it was taken over by the GDR consumer goods department and managed until 1991. In 1991 the site came back to the municipality of Rangsdorf, which initially leased it.

In 1996 the Seebad-Casino had to close and was then sold to the Glendenberg family via a public tender. After just under a year of construction, today's hotel and restaurant Seebad-Casino was opened on August 3rd, 2000. Since 2015, the traditional house as Seehotel Berlin-Rangsdorf has belonged to the private hotels Dr. Lohbeck.

View of Rangsdorfer See

Highlight • Viewpoint

Here on the shore there is a small jetty and a pseudo-sailing ship that lets you go out onto the lake.

The Rangsdorfer See itself is facing difficult times; due to falling water levels, the lake is in danger of silting up in the next 150 years. So: enjoy it while it's still there.

When we visited, the path directly by the lake that was listed on Komoot was not accessible. The gate from the parking lot was locked. It could have been a coincidence or they wanted to keep unwanted visitors away... 🤔?

Right next to a small swimming area you will find this beautiful viewing platform. In addition to the great lake view, a signpost gives directions and distances to selected places such as La Palma, Sacramento and Berlin.
