Rossijevo Sklonište Mountain Shelter

Highlight • Mountain Hut

There were three of us (plus two) in Rossi's. We did a tour from Zavižan to Kozjak and back to sleep in Rossi's. And everything went according to plan, we cooked a nice dinner, had a little support and went to bed. We have heard that there are fluff before but we thought ok, if they walk on / in the roof, and we are tired and fall asleep despite the sounds. But it wasn't like that. Namely, after 20 minutes of sleep, the fluff headed towards us. Around the head, in front of the face, on all sides. Glis Glis (lat.) Is not so cute when you see it a few inches from your face. And nothing, in the middle of the night we put the lamps and the stump back to Zavižan. In the end we arrived very late, the home was already asleep so we decided to spend the night in the car- it was good 🙂 Two hikers who stayed to sleep in the shelter but on the ground floor the next day told us that it was 'very cheerful' at night but that they still managed to fall asleep and the down did not descend too far to them. So it turns out that the floor where they sleep is still their territory and that we have a peaceful dream!
Well, if someone isn’t a rodent fan, Rossi’s shelter isn’t for him

Ivančev Dom Mountain Hut & Pool

Highlight • Mountain Hut

Here the hut owner has come up with something nice for his guests. A wonderful, refreshing pool with a great view!
The food is very good and there are several dishes at Ivančev Dom.
e.g. goulash with pasta, ham and cheese platter, bean stew and macaroni. The hut owner is very nice and takes his time with his guests. He speaks English and also German. The prices are absolutely fair.

Maybe also interesting:
All the food and whatever else is needed in the hut comes up on the donkey.

Very nice rest stop. We had (mid-April) delicious bean soup with bread and sausages if you wanted. There was also Turkish coffee and cold drinks.

July 2023 spontaneous overnight stay. It worked great, including two drinks from the fridge for €20. Host doesn't speak English well, but you can communicate.
