A beautiful trail! Uphill due to partly larger stones and roots, it is challenging because of the gradient. Additionally, a few sections seem to have been newly covered with gravel, which is why it is still quite loose. Downhill, for me, it's a much nicer route than going over the road - but a road bike would also be torn apart here.

It's simply great that something has also been done here along the Nidda regarding "re-naturalization".

The old town of Kronberg is a real gem with its narrow alleys and cute old houses.

The renaturalization project was only effectively completed at this location in 2025. Before that, it was "nice," but nothing more. Today, at least here, one can get an impression of what the Nidda might originally have looked like. A little further downstream towards Höchst, there is also a more natural stretch – otherwise, unfortunately, it's still a very straightened river, yet still one of the most beautiful sections in Frankfurt.
