Dampark Haderslev

Highlight • Rest Area

Dampark, established in 1958, lies in the middle of Haderslev town. The park has beautiful flower beds, a rose garden and a herb garden, whose herbs are freely available to everyone.

In the southeast corner is the old monastery cemetery with a number of listed burial sites as well as memorials to fallen soldiers. Peter Hiort Lorenzen is also buried here.

There are also two playgrounds in the park, both for slightly older and smaller children. At the kiosk you can rent pedal boats to cruise around on the lake.

At the north-west end of the park is Gammel Haderslev Kirke, which is also Sct. Severin Kirke and is probably Haderslev's oldest church.

In addition to beautiful flower beds, you will also come across sculptures and monuments on your walk through Dampark.

Hindemade Lake

Highlight (Segment) • Lake

A restored lake surrounded by beautiful nature, hiking trails and mountain bike trails.
Surrounded by slopes and forest is the lake area Hindemade - but this has not always been the case. In 1935, the area, which was previously a swampy marsh and meadow area, was cut off from Haderslev Dam with a dike. With canals and pumps, the water was led away so that it became possible to cultivate and graze the land. Over the next 60 years, drainage and cultivation lowered the terrain in Hindemade up to 1.5 meters. In 1994, drainage was stopped, and instead approx. 47 hectares of meadows submerged. Subsequently, the area has developed into a really beautiful nature area, which both animals and humans have taken to.

Highlight • Beach

Genner Strand is located north of the Løjt Land peninsula, inside Genner Bay, about 10 km north of the town of Aabenraa and 17 km south of the town of Haderslev. The area is characterized by quiet, southern Jutland nature consisting of forest, fields and beach. Directly across from Genner Strand is the small, scenic island of Kalvø. A causeway connects the island to the mainland and a marked nature trail circles the island for about 1.5 km.

This beautiful place is only about 2.5 km from the town of Ribe. There are cabins to rent and a small campsite. Very friendly staff and everything you need is there. Very clean sanitary facilities. Showers are charged per minute, electricity is included. There is also a bread roll service 😉. It is easy to walk around the ponds and there are lots of places to sit. The children have also been thought of, as there is a large playground.
