It's a wonderful little park to walk around in, unfortunately I wasn't inside the Schlosshotel...😢

Beautiful castle hotel with a large castle park, located directly on the Elbe. Storkau Castle itself was only built in 1912 as a baroque castle. However, the estate was first mentioned in 1209 and was then owned by the von Storkau family. Update January 2023: Unfortunately, the Schlosshotel is closed for an indefinite period.

Very nice to look at. Today it is a hotel. In GDR times it was a nursing home. At the back you have a great view of the Elbe

At the corner of the courthouse of the town hall stands the Roland from 1525 in a true-to-the-original copy from 1974. Like most Rolands, the Stendaler is also depicted as a knight.

The coffee there is very tasty, but the cake, especially the cold snout, is also highly recommended. 🤣🤣👍🏻

The castle was built in 1912 by the cavalry captain Freiherr von Guaita for himself and his family, whereby the builder valued baroque models. Nevertheless, it cannot hide the forms of historicism. The house is a three-wing complex of impressive size, balanced symmetry and elegant facade design. The house itself is a two-storey plastered building with a mansard roof. The cast-iron balcony in front of the central window on the upper floor is striking on the park side. The magnificent coat of arms and the sculptures are beautiful to look at. The house forms a harmonious unit with the line of sight of the park. Facing the Elbe, a large terrace supporting the balcony dominates the architecture. As on the front of the castle, value was also placed on a balanced window design on the back. https://www.schloss-storkau.de/dasschloss_baustil.php
