I recommend walking the trail clockwise due to the incline. We walked it with our 4-year-old; it was quite an adventure, but it worked out well.

A great and impressive backdrop, as the two waterfalls rush under the bridge, with the mill and the castle in the background.

The two of us (75 m and 71 w) walked the Dortebach hiking trail today. Knowing full well that we are not alpinists, we tackled the path, but were confronted with sections a few times along the way that are not suitable for every "hiker". We advise against anyone who is not absolutely sure-footed to scramble up here. It was absolutely bone dry today, but it sure is dangerous when it's wet. You can relax over the level to the Annischer Hof and then come to the Kasteschkopp, a beautiful vantage point from which you can see the Moselle valley wonderfully. From here it goes back down into the valley in moderate switchbacks, easy to walk on.

Incredibly beautiful hiking trail through the valley of the wild Endert. Rightly one of the most beautiful hiking trails in Germany. Especially beautiful when the trees wear their young green dress in spring.

The hiking trail in the valley of the Endert was voted the most beautiful hiking trail in 2019 by the readers of the magazine "Wandermagazin". In addition to the numerous old mills, the waterfall, the so-called Rausch, is undoubtedly the highlight in the Enderttal.
