So far, I have not gone up or down the path - so far always overlooked.
Nice path (decent gravel ramp) and a nice piece of mining history.

When mining began here is no longer precisely known. The first concession document dates from October 5, 1811. The Obersdorf citizen „Ebert Heupel“ was granted the operation with a size (mining field of 84 x 14 meters). First records from 1840 report the cessation of operations on August 10 due to a lack of ore deposits. Before 1840, the mine was among the most productive in the entire district. In 1842, the treasury reported outstanding payments. The mine operators attempted to offer the iron ore stored on the spoil heap to the state as compensation. As the ore was of poor quality, its value was insufficient. A new concession for the mine was granted on March 10, 1852, for iron and copper ores. On December 2, 1858, it was merged with the mines Weisser Mann, unterster Hohlerstein, frischer-, junger- und neuer Ruckel, neues-, mittleres- und altes Glücksrad to form the consolidated mine Cornelie.

The route there isn't the best, but the rest area at the slate tunnel entrance is really great.

How bad must it have been to seek shelter in an old tunnel.. everyone has to decide for themselves whether this is a highlight. Memorial would probably be more appropriate 🤷🏽‍♂️
