Lieserschlucht - main road, lots of traffic but at least from Seeboden towards Spittal there is enough space on the side. In the past it was closed from time to time due to rock stabilization work. There are alternative routes, but not flat, only with gradients such as Fratresstrasse or via St. Wolfgang. The Liesersteig which runs parallel is closed as far as I know.

Lieser Valley: Gmünd - Lieserbrücke

Highlight (Segment) • River

Beautiful in the valley along the Lieser between Gmünd and Lieserbrücke. Broad road with good pavement. Due to the valley location it is always a bit fresh and sometimes the cars race past you. It's nice anyway.

Gössgraben Valley

Highlight (Segment) • Gorge

Super nice, continuously paved route.
The Gössgraben is also called the valley of the falling waters because of its many waterfalls. I have to admit that I was last here about 20 years ago. So my expectations of the roaring masses of water were really high. Unfortunately that was not the case.
This year (2022) we had a lot of snow, but it hardly rained in spring.
But even without the waterfalls, this valley is really worth seeing. Narrow serpentines, beautiful alpine pastures and great views of the mountains never cease to amaze.
Since GPS and network are hardly available here…. download your tour offline 😉

The Göss Falls Maltatal are one of the most beautiful waterfall ensembles in Carinthia. They are also a highlight when it comes to the topic of "Malta Waterfall". The three beautiful waterfalls are located in an impressive granite gorge and can be hiked along the Göss Falls Water Thought Trail.

The easiest way to get to the lake from Spittal by bike. The short route goes directly along the main road and takes about 10 minutes.
