The Benni Raich suspension bridge, an impressive construction with an equally impressive view of the mountains in the distance as well as down into the gorge through which you recently hiked. The floor is opaque and easy to walk on, as is the railing halfway up, so you don't see too much for those who are afraid of heights. Everyone else can dare to step up to the railing and look down the 94m. At the ends there are information signs for anyone who visits the bridge for a supposedly not positive reason. Sad but important in my opinion! Tel: 142

Beautiful and exciting. The paths are very well signposted and developed with bridges and stairs in places where it gets difficult. Highly Recommended

Depending on where you start your tour, you can "curl up" a bit at the beginning, so I started from Nassereith in the direction of Fernstein-See and drove back in front of the campsite on a nice trail in the direction of Tegestal. From the triangular path to the Alm, it gets very steep for the next three kilometers and there are multiple ramps of around 20% to be overcome. If you're in a really good mood, you can ride it safely - I made a little "Bike & Hike" out of it because I didn't know what was to come. After that it is easy to drive with a pleasant incline towards the Alm. Shortly before the destination, the previously narrow, rocky valley becomes a wide, lush green valley floor in which the Alm is picturesquely embedded. The way back can of course be the same way, whereby the steep, partly coarse gravel ramps downhill should not be underestimated, especially for inexperienced drivers (!!!) But I opted for the trail towards Tarrenz. From the well-signposted turn-off, it goes uphill again, sometimes over large stone steps, roots and scree. I would sign the "S2" classification. 😎 But with a breather every now and then, I was able to manage everything while driving, with very few exceptions. After circumnavigating the "Alpeskopf" it goes downhill again. On its south side you drive a long valley section with great views. However, the path was partially broken and felt narrower than the handlebars. (But you don't have to look down - then it works 😄.) The further you drive down the valley, the better the paths become. The chapel "Sinnesbrunn" invites you to linger. After Sinnesbrunn, it is best to continue on the forest road in the direction of Tarrenz. The trail I chose and recorded here was not (well) rideable. I can highly recommend the "Sinnes Waldrast" (you will inevitably pass this inn in the middle of the forest) to end the tour properly and to put the rest back to the starting point.

The Klammbach Waterfall, located near Fronhausen and very close to Obsteig, is a spectacular natural sight. The Klammbach river carves through a narrow gap, creating a series of drops over 20 meters. A short, approximately 10-minute trail leads from the road to the waterfall, offering easy access. The Gaistal Valley also features a captivating waterfall circuit.
The gorges around Obsteig are characterized by the powerful erosion of water carving through rock formations, creating dramatic landscapes. You'll observe narrow gaps, cascading waterfalls, and deep riverbeds. These features are particularly evident at the Klammbach Waterfall, where the river has sculpted its path, and within the Salvesen Gorge, showcasing how the Salvesenbach has eaten its way into the rock.

Haiming (approx. 14 km away) and Sautens (approx. 23 km away) are popular hubs for guided canyoning activities, offering routes like the Auerklamm and Alpenrosenklamm with varying difficulty levels.
The best time to visit the Klammbach Waterfall is in early summer, particularly in the morning, as the waterfall faces east and the water flow is typically strong. Generally, late spring to early autumn offers pleasant weather for hiking and exploring the gorges and valleys, allowing you to fully appreciate the natural beauty.
Yes, for those seeking a challenge, the Tegesbach Gorge offers a beautiful, sometimes quite steep, path that runs parallel to the Tegesbach. For example, explore running trails like the 'View of the Mieminger Plateau' loop, or embark on hikes such as the 'Arzkasten Inn – Wooden Bridge Over Waterfall' loop. There are also many road cycling routes like the 'Simply beautiful – Telfs loop'.
No, the Luis-Trenker-Steig, which leads through the Pitzenklamm, is currently closed. It has sustained partial, massive flood damage, and the paths have collapsed on the slopes. Visitors should check local updates for reopening information.
Yes, the Klammbach Waterfall is associated with the historic Klamm Castle, adding a cultural element to the natural beauty of the area. While the castle itself is a ruin, its presence highlights the historical significance of the landscape.
Visitors frequently praise the wild and original nature of areas like the Gaistal Valley, highlighting it as a top spot for hiking and biking. The tranquil environment, breathtaking views of the Tyrolean mountains, and the presence of numerous alpine pastures for refreshments are also highly appreciated. The dramatic views from structures like the Benni Raich Suspension Bridge are also a big draw.
For technical canyoning activities in nearby areas like Haiming or Sautens, it is generally recommended to go with a guided tour operator. These operators will handle any necessary permits or access requirements for the specific canyoning routes, ensuring a safe and compliant experience.
