The Mehlbach pond, which has nothing to do with flour or mills, because it has too little water for a mill and has never powered one, is currently being renovated by Hessen Forst. Fifty years ago the first syllable was pronounced short, i.e. Melbach, or even Mölbach. That is why the old cadastral maps of the Grand Duchy still say Molbach.
