You have a great view here out over Monksville Reservoir and the surrounding hills when you are crossing the dam on Stonetown Road. There is not much chance of being able to stop on the ride over, so just enjoy the ride or go to the car park on the northern end.

Spanning about 250 feet long and rising 20 feet tall, this low-flowing dam is constructed of concrete faced with stone. Only a thin veil of water typically trickles over the spillway of this impressively long barrier, which holds back the reservoir's contents.

Very pretty when you can see the water. It's harder to see during the summer because of the foliage, but there a couple of spots where viewing is nice. Better to ride when traffic is light (early in the morning)

Nice views and good break point to rest or take pictures especially if Skyline Dr is taken from Oakland since the climb is not easy (9% avg). Ringwood Ave is much easier.
