Grinton Moor Climb – Greets Moss Summit

Highlight (Segment) • Climb

A nice scenic 'roof of the world' type climb of 2.5 miles at an average of 7%, steepest in the first half. Pub in Grinton to have a brew before you tackle it. Was memorable climb with some 'endless sky' photo opportunities.

Jenny Hill

Highlight • Summit

The start of Arkengarthdale. The road takes you out of Reeth & the wildness of the valley is immediately apparent.

Rout options are the long drag to Tan Hill (avoid when there is a westerly, it can take forever!) or left at the CB Inn up Bouldershaw or right shortly after to climb The Stang.

Penhill Crags and Beacon

Highlight (Segment) • Viewpoint

Height of Hazely Summit

Highlight • Viewpoint

Height of Hazely is a flat top on Carlton Moor. On different maps the actual height of it differs (e.g. 550m or 553m); this is probably because it's difficult to establish, because of how flat it is, where the actual top is!

Grassy, "British-desolate" and can be wet after or in rain, so make sure your boots are up for the job! It can be difficult to walk here, so if you're not walking in dry summer conditions, some hiking experience of walking across moorland is recommended.

Tremendous views from high above of the area. Enjoy!

Leave some extra time if you’ve enjoyed the food at Dales Bike Centre Café. Also be prepared for the Stang or more climbs after this starter
