It is a conservation area that has biologically rich ecosystems such as the 125-acre wetland complex, the rather large 282-acre Genoa City Wetlands and the 'Barrens,' which is a Bur oak dominated savanna. It also has the 1.5 mile section of the North Branch of Nippersink Creek. With all these diverse ecosystems it is no surprise that the site is teeming with wildlife and an excellent place to view grassland birds.
