Fantaisie Castle and the surrounding castle park are located in Eckersdorf near the city of Bayreuth. The well-maintained park around the castle can be visited free of charge and combines elements of Rococo, Sensibility, and Historicism. Water features take place every hour from May to October at the Neptune Fountain, which was built in the Baroque style. A really nice place for a walk and to slow down ⛲🌳🦆

Schloss Fantaisie and the surrounding castle park are located in Eckersdorf near the city of Bayreuth. It was once the summer residence of the Margrave couple Friedrich and Wilhelmine of Brandenburg-Bayreuth. In 1761, Margrave Friedrich began the construction of the castle. After his death, his daughter Duchess Elisabeth Friederike Sophie of Württemberg completed the castle around 1763. She also gave the castle its name. Since 2000, the Garden Art Museum has been housed in the castle, displaying valuable exhibits, sculptures, and faithful replicas such as the famous Spindler marquetry cabinet – admission must be paid for the museum. The well-maintained park surrounding the castle can be visited free of charge and combines elements of Rococo, Sensibility, and Historicism. In the park, you can visit, among other things, cascades with water features (hourly from May to October), a Victory Tower, a baroque Neptune fountain, and an idyllic wine terrace.

The vineyard or wine garden in the Fantaisie Castle Park in Eckersdorf near Bayreuth has been historically reconstructed. It was restored to its original condition as part of extensive restoration work. The distinctive south terraces, which lead down to the Herzogweiher, are now planted with grapevines again. In summer, the leaves provide shade, and from the terraces, you have a beautiful view of the Herzogweiher 🍇🌿🏰

Currently, the paths are extremely muddy and impassable at Herrmannsbach (Jagdtisch) due to fallen trees. I have informed the municipality but received no response.

Small rock block on the edge of the Schloßpark. Steps have been carved into the sandstone. At the top, it is so weathered that a climb was probably deemed too dangerous. Access is blocked off with a chain at the bottom.
