December 19, 2025, William Prosser Mountain

This is a small mountain, at just 310 metres, but it offers a great overview of the surroundings. From the top, you can see the gorge formed by Berry Brook and the wind turbines in the distance. Take a moment to enjoy the views — it’s especially beautiful in the fall.

In this section, the Dobson Trail navigates through forested hills along Berry Brook. The trail is well marked and climbs steadily until you reach William Prosser Mountain. The full trail stretches for 58 kilometres, so you can walk for as long as you like. If you’re only looking to hike part of it, this section is a good choice.

The White Rock Recreation Area is a trail system developed by the Codiac Cycling Trails bike club. However, hiking is still welcome on all trails. This area was a former mine site that includes an old quarry, caves, underground streams, and white rock formations throughout the landscape.

This dirt road is a good option if you want to make a loop with the Dobson Trail. There’s very little traffic in the area, and the route passes through open landscapes that contrast with the dense forest along the trail.

November 12, 2025, Mollins Brook

Mollins Brook winds quietly through the forest before merging with Mill Creek. Dobson Trail passes by the brook with narrow paths that trace the brook’s bends and lead to hidden pools and rocky streambeds. It’s a great place to explore if you like following the flow of water through deep woods, with the sounds of the brook and the scent of pine filling the air as you go.

This stretch of the Dobson Trail winds through Acadian forest, where tall spruce and birch trees arch above the path. The terrain gently rises, giving you a taste of the region’s rolling hills. Ferns and moss cover the ground, and after the rain, the air feels fresh and earthy. It’s a great section to feel fully immersed in the forest, with moments where sunlight breaks through the canopy and lights up the trail ahead.  Dobson Trail spans 58 km; this is just a short forested section that ends at Smith Road. You can walk for more or less and even combine it with some of the dirty roads in the area to make a loop.

October 29, 2025, Mill Ceek

Mill Creek begins in the uplands west of Riverview, collecting runoff and small feeder streams, and stretching about 10 kilometers. It meanders through wooded areas and eventually joins the Petitcodiac River. Mill Creek gets its name from the sawmills and gristmills along its shores in the 1800s.
