Best Munkkis and morning coffee ever. Wonderful old shop run by an old friendly couple. And if you need air, you will find it also.

The Kaitaisten bridge on regional road 192 connects the islands of Kaitaisten and Lehtisten in the municipality of Taivassalo. It is one of the longest bridges in Finland. The bridge is 477 meters long, and its under-keel clearance is 13.5 meters. The bridge was completed in 1982 and connected the archipelago municipality of Kustavi to the mainland. Before the bridge was built, two ferries operated at the site. ˈkvɛlən|anɡaːbə Im Wörterbuch anzeigen 15 Source: https://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaitaisten_silta

The stone church, built in the 15th century and dedicated to the Holy Cross, is an architecturally rare Holy Cross church complex. Taivassalo Church is built on the large island of Kirkkosaari in the Archipelago Sea. Taivassalo's mother church had the following chapel parishes: Iniö (until 1911), Kustavi (until 1874), and Velkua (until 1913). The earliest of the church's abundant paintings date from the 15th century. A crucifix from the 14th century is among Finland's national treasures. The hero statue in front of the church, dedicated to those who fell in 1939–1944, is the work of artist Jussi Vikainen. The church's side vaults are simple cross vaults, and one vault is richer, a 28-ribbed chancel vault. After vaulting in 1465, the church was limewashed and repainted in the late 1460s. Paintings were made not only on the walls but also on the ceiling. Taivassalo is indeed one of the first churches in Finland to have all its surfaces decorated with paintings. During the period of strict orthodoxy in the 1650s, the church's wall paintings were covered with lime. Source: https://www.taivassalo.fi/matkailu/kayntikohteet/pyhan-ristin-kirkko

The first church in Mietoinen was the wooden chapel church of St. James in the village of Hietamäki. The chapel and the Hietamäki parish are first mentioned in the Turku Cathedral Black Book in 1366, although the parish is probably older than this. The independent parish is thought to have become the Mynämäki chapel parish in the 14th century. The last church service was held in the Hietamäki chapel in 1731. A memorial was erected at the site in the 1950s. https://www.mynamaenseurakunta.fi/kirkot-ja-tilat/mietoisten-kirkko
