Really nice place to walk and have a calm moment. Will need to wear suitable shoes as it can get very wet and muddy.

A large café with a good selection of hot and cold food and drinks. As the site is run by Forestry Commission, the organisation that operates Alice Holt Forest, there are lots of other facilities here as well including toilets, wifi, seating, car parking, a water tap etc.

One of several sculptures along the Shipwrights Way, which starts here (although there it can be extended to the nearby Bentley Station) and continues to Portsmouth. The sculpture represent the practice of chaining trees, to encourage them to grow into a shape that assisted with shipbuilding.

Alice Holt Forest has lots of footpaths and nature trails to explore, as well as picnic areas, fishing ponds, cycling trails, play areas, and relaxation spots. As many will know, if you venture into the deep dark wood you may bump into the Gruffalo. This is especially true of Alice Holt Forest, though, as there are many wooden sculptures from Julia Donaldson's story hidden in the woodland. Interestingly, this royal forest was used to supply timber for Royal Navy ships in the 18th and 19th centuries. It is now in the care of the Forestry Commission.
