It's not easy to get up there. It's a tough fire road type climb 80% of the way then through a gate on to a single track trail that takes you up the last bit. The views are amazing, well worth the effort. Coming back down is actually more difficult. It's a very rocky, stony, rooty descent. Slippy when wet going up and down!

This trig point is, of course, a remnant from a time before the high trees. Over time, the trees have obscured any line of sight to and from the trig point from elsewhere

Greno Woods is a beautiful reserve covering 178 hectares, which existed as early as 1600AD. It is a peaceful ancient woodland with lots to look out for including brown hares, badgers, bats and the rare shining guest ant. There are over 60 species of birds including linnet, redpoll and little owl. With a section of the Trans Pennine Trail in its midst as well as long and short tracks, it has something for everyone including dog walkers, horse riders and cyclists. https://www.wildsheffield.com/reserves/greno-woods-reserve/
