BE WARNED - you cannot cycle all the way north along the shore from Kames to link back to the A8803. There is a 1.5km section of steep rocky path that is in-passable with a bike. Do not be tempted to hikeabike this section, it takes 3 hours to carry bikes across this section.

Follow the Shore Road back to the boat yard. We dropped onto the beach here for a bit of variety and a paddle. We were lucky enough to see a pod of porpoise feeding at the red buoy on the turning tide β€οΈπ¬

The harbour is more of a sheltered cove with a tiny lighthouse. Its not a quayside or pier. But is is very pretty. Must have been stunning when the castle was here. You can continue along the road here if you like. Sadly the "island" jutting out is private and there are some houses ahead. We followed the sign heading up to the lily pond
