The church was built in 1872 in the neo-Byzantine style according to plans by Schinkel's student Friedrich Wilhelm Buttel. The choir apse, which is semicircular on the inside, is divided into five parts on the outside. There is a clockwork with a three-sided dial in the tower. The larger of two bells was delivered in 1943. The altar was richly decorated and the six windows had colorful leaded glazing. An organ was installed in 1912. In the last days of the war in 1945, an unexploded shell hit the church roof, services were held until 1952, later a tree fell on the roof and the ship became a ruin. In 1960, a church service room was built in the tower vestibule, where services also take place regularly.
