Plas y Brenin - National Outdoor Centre, originally a coaching inn built in 1801, is situated in Capel Curig, in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. This is the home of the National Mountain Centre. The centre has a bar and large terrace overlooking the lake. There is free parking. Plas y Brenin is a vibrant outdoor centre run by the Mountain Training Trust (MTT) on behalf of Sport England. It offers a wide range of courses under the banner of 'climbing, walking, paddling, cycling'.

The Friends of St. Julitta's have been working, largely with the help of volunteers, for over 25 years to renovate and preserve the church building for the benefit of the public, residents and visitors, and to operate it for community events. The names of residents who served in the First World War and returned home are engraved on the sides of the plinth.
