A steep way out of the valley, but leading to many possibilities (a 'missing' connection section). The gradient eases at the top of the quarry and a there are variety of options heading towards Dolwyddelan, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Llan Ffestiniog. Goes on gravel / MTB

Nestled in the quiet Machno Valley, Penmachno is surrounded by wonderful woodland and riverside trails. It is a good base for exploring the wider Snowdonia National Park, with the Snowdon range, the Glyderau and the Carneddau only a short drive away. There are a number of places to stay in the village, while both the Eagles pub and Penmachno Hall serve food at weekends. There's also a small supermarket store in the village.
