If you want to be left in complete peace and quiet just outside Lohne and enjoy a virtually endless walk, you should definitely try walking through here during the day on weekends. Wear proper footwear; the paths are typical of moorland areas and are not very straight.

The South Lohne Moor is a wonderful natural experience. My highlights were the singing bluethroats and the strange calls of the nightjars.

Selfiponint can no longer be reached via Hinnersdamm - bank under water - dam has been broken down. Here now only water surface!

Roads are barely passable, completely closed. Was known as a touring bike ride, but it certainly isn't. When you come out of the bog there is now a fenced house on the path. You have to walk around the house with the bike, past a grain field and the roadside to the road. I don't recommend it.

The peat sea is a beautiful place. Very quiet, very beautiful. But you should have something in your legs, the floor covering costs grains. Studded tires are of course mandatory.
