The Märzenbechertal (Snowflake Valley) lies southwest of the village of Landgrafroda in the Ziegelroda Forest. It is a narrow valley whose slopes are covered with beech and oak trees. Here, the spring snowflake (Leucojum vernum), also known as the snowflake, has become widespread and, during its flowering season between late February and early April, creates a unique spectacle. A carpet of millions of white blossoms of this protected plant attracts numerous visitors from near and far to the Märzenbechertal every year. Designated a protected natural monument since 1989, it is a must-see for every nature lover! (https://www.querfurt.de/seite/328990/m%C3%A4rzenbechertal.html)

The municipal vineyard "St. Bruno" was reestablished in 2007 on the former vineyard of the Marienzell monastery of the noble Lords of Querfurt. The vineyard was named after Saint Bruno, one of the most famous members of this noble family. The grape varieties Gutedel, Pinot Blanc, and Blauer Zweigelt are cultivated here. The wine produced from these grapes is called "Edler von Querfurt."

Marienzell Monastery, on the banks of the Querne River not far from the castle, was the most important of the six monasteries founded by the rulers of Querfurt. The Benedictine monastery was originally located at Lautersburg Castle near Lodersleben, seven kilometers away, from 1120 onwards. In 1146, it was relocated here to Eilwardesdorf for security reasons. The monastery included a large church dedicated to the Virgin Mary and Saint Brun of Querfurt. The convent was dissolved around 1558. Today, only an information board remains at the site of the original monastery. However, the "Saint Bruno" vineyard opposite, cultivated by the monks, has been preserved.
