The Auma is a 34.2 km long tributary of the Weida in the district of Greiz in Thuringia. It rises in a wetland used by numerous ponds south-east of Linda near Neustadt an der Orla and initially flows in a north-easterly direction through Köthnitz. It is crossed in this area by the federal highway 9. Other places are Reinsdorf, Sorna, Krölpa, Muntscha, Auma, Wiebelsdorf, Wöhlsdorf, Forstwolfersdorf, Rohna, Schömberg, where it feeds the Auma dam, and Liebsdorf. In the town of Weida it flows into the river of the same name, Weida. Between Sorna and Auma, the Auma valley was used by the Triptis–Marxgrün railway line. At Reinsdorf, the Auma drains a wetland that represents the northern continuation of the Plothen ponds.
