The Briese River originated as a glacial meltwater runoff. It rises in Lake Wandlitz and flows into the Havel River in Birkenwerder. It meanders through the landscape, forming alder groves and marshy meadows in the marshy area. These are home to many animal species.

Beautiful to look at from the second bridge, but towards Oranienburg on the cycle path along the Oranienburg Canal is the most beautiful, smallest and third bridge.

One of the many locks in Oberhavel. Directly on the cycle path between Pinnow and Oranienburg. A super quiet route.

Path along the canal from Borgsdorf Pinnow to Oranienburg. Past the Pinnow Lock. Very quiet, smooth asphalt. Super beautiful and peaceful.

If you really, really want to, you can get to Haveleck by bike (and vice versa, of course), depending on the weather. However, you may have to push your bike for about 200 - 300 m and "hop" across the field. It's a bit tedious, impassable and, if it's rained, pretty muddy... 👍

It is definitely an experience to walk through the middle of the Brieseaue. The footbridge is good, but very slippery in wet weather. You walk through the duckweed and the ducks just look at you, you are right in the middle of it and not just there.

Good for your health and especially to revitalize swollen hiking feet. The nice seating area also offers a good opportunity to take a break.
