Beautiful varied tour with beautiful panoramic views of Scharfenstein Castle and alpine sections. As a small tip, I would recommend a subsequent visit to Warmbad Wolkenstein to relax and regenerate your strength. There is also a nice and beautifully designed small sauna area.

Today's tour takes us to Scharfenstein, a district of Drebach. From the parking lot, looking up, we see the castle on the hillside. Dark clouds, we walk through the village in a drizzle, see a multitude of marked hiking trails at the crossroads, and our path leads us up the mountain. After a short, steep section, we reach the castle, built around 1250, it belonged to the Lords of Waldenburg. A small gap in the clouds allows the castle to briefly shine in the sunlight. From above, with a first glimpse of the valley, we pass through the Renaissance portal. We enter the courtyard and look around. The keep, built on a raised rock, appears imposing. The courtyard is full of children; today it is a family and adventure castle. We buy tickets. Via the terrace, we reach the keep entrance. The narrow 17-meter climb gives us a beautiful view down into the valley and the town, surrounded by hills. The atmosphere is mystical, the clouds are low, and fog sometimes rises between the trees. We descend again, heading underground to the cistern. The smell is musty, damp, and overgrown with moss; it is 36.1 meters deep. Now we enter the former residential wing and go up to the museum.
