Only recently, an entrance to the 130-year-old barite tunnel was uncovered and fitted with a grille door. This now provides a view into the mining tunnel of the Mathilde mine. Previously, there was only an opening accessible to bats. A nice addition to the mining trail.

The village square is in the center of the village and is appropriately decorated by the Sterkel houses at Easter and during Advent. The memorial stone with a bronze plate commemorates the 1000-year celebrations in 2003, and the massive wooden seating area invites you to take a little break. A nicely designed little square for walkers, bikers and the villagers.
