The beautiful, imposing church dominates the main square here. All around you will also find some places to rest and eat. Right next to the church, there is also a fountain.

September 10, 2025, Rechnitz Bathing Lake

Burgenland's first artificial lake was built between 1962 and 1964 and is located in the tranquil and picturesque Faludital valley. It is approximately 300 m long, 100 m wide, and a maximum of 7 m deep. The bathing lake is fed by springs on the southern slope of the Geschriebenstein and boasts excellent water quality. There is a bathing lake buffet with a seating terrace on the south shore and a snack bar on the north shore. The water slide, the sun island, the diving tower (jumping heights of 3 and 5 meters), and the large swing area also offer plenty of additional entertainment. Free admission to the bathing lake with the Burgenland Card. Price without the card: €3.80 (valid for 2025). Discounts are available for families, seniors, schoolchildren, and students.

A pleasant route, good infrastructure. Swimming lake in Rechnitz. Also of interest is the Kreuzstadl memorial in Rechnitz. In Bad Tatzmannsdorf, be sure to stop by the Spiegel chocolate factory and/or the Kaplan pastry shop. On Wednesday mornings, the weekly market in Oberwart has a very special atmosphere.

The storm left a mark on the pavement of the Bahntrassen-radweg, so I had to avoid it... It was worth it! I also admired the church and the wooden locomotive. In fact, both together.

Among the medieval churches of the Upper Guard is the symbol of Hannersdorf. A XV. It was built in the second half of the century in an extraordinary place, around which the village settled. The late Gothic church and the village played an important role in the Middle Ages on the economic route of Lower Austria and the Kingdom of Hungary. A beautiful view of the small town and the surrounding mountains can be seen from all parts of the church garden. And the sunset is a special sight...

The Bach Flower Power Park is a unique natural facility in the world where you can build up positive feelings and thereby strengthen your character. It was created in 2007 in collaboration with the international Bach flower expert Mechthild Scheffer from the municipality of Rechnitz. All 38 Bach flower plants grow here, whose positive energies Mechthild Scheffer has condensed into 38 motivating power formulas. There is a DVD about the opening ceremony and a conversation between the internationally recognized Bach flower expert Mechthild Scheffer and probably Rechnitz's best-known son, the musician, music producer and composer Christian Kolonovits, about the basics of Bach flower therapy and the Bach flower power park, available from the municipal office for € 10/piece is available.
