In Kainach, you'll find this distinctive, historic pump well, which plays a central role in the village tradition. It is located in the village center of Kainach, not far from the well-known Kainach Castle and the Kainachtal hiking trail. It is a classic lever pump well, a type of well that historically replaced open water shafts in villages. The well is one of over 100 wells in Franconian Switzerland that are magnificently decorated at Easter. In Kainach, it is usually decorated with garlands of fir branches, colorful eggs, and often also with "Pensala" (paper ribbons). In the past, it was an essential water source for the inhabitants of the water-poor high plateaus of the Franconian Jura. Today, it is a popular photo motif for hikers on the Franconian Mountain Trail.

The Kaiserbach Valley is a picturesque dry valley in Franconian Switzerland, bordering the Kainach Valley near Hollfeld to the north. It is particularly popular with hikers seeking a tranquil, unspoiled atmosphere away from the more well-trodden tourist paths. Rock formations: The valley is characterized by striking dolomite cliffs. A highlight is the "Old Fritz," a rock face in which, with a little imagination, one can discern a face. The Swallow Stone Grotto and the Cow Church (a former cave) are also located in this area. In contrast to the wider Kainach Valley, the Kaiserbach Valley is narrower and often wooded, making it a cool retreat in summer. Historically, the region is known for its old weirs, which were once used to artificially irrigate the valley's meadows.

During the flowering season (between March and April), a veritable sea of flowers – truly magnificent! Countless early bloomers can be admired directly from the path. Staying on the paths – especially in the nature reserve – should be a matter of course.
