The gorge is beautiful, but the ruin of the mill is almost impossible to see. Completely overgrown.

Nicely overgrown path. However, a nice challenge to walk. I recommend walking it from bottom to top with good mountain hiking boots. 1 downside: there was a lot of plastic waste in the stream. Should not be possible in a protected nature reserve.

Sturdy shoes and long trousers are strongly recommended: In May, the vegetation was sometimes so dense that the path was rarely clearly visible.

Nice forest and hiking area. Unfortunately we didn't have much time, otherwise we would have explored it more...

The necropolis of Fourni is located on this plateau in front of Mount Juchtas. It is not freely accessible. The necropolis was once the cemetery of the Minoan predecessor city of Archanes. Rich grave goods were found here, some of which can be found in the museum in Archanes and some in Heraklion. The tombs were used for a very long time - from about 2400 BC. to 1200 BC Chr. Different architectural styles can also be seen here. G. Sakellarakis undertook the first excavations in 1964.
