The Oderaue is a nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Herzberg am Harz and the communities of Hattorf am Harz and Wulften am Harz in the Hattorf am Harz collective municipality in the Göttingen district and the community of Katlenburg-Lindau in the Northeim district. The nature reserve with the designation NSG BR 124 is 510 hectares in size. 392 hectares of this are in the Göttingen district and 118 hectares in the Northeim district. The nature reserve is almost entirely part of the FFH area "Sieber, Rhume, Oder". To the west it borders on the nature reserve "Naturschutzgebiet Rhumeaue/Ellerniederung/Gillersheimer Bachtal". The area has been under nature protection since April 26, 2007. The responsible lower nature conservation authorities are the Göttingen and Northeim districts. (Source: Wikipedia)
