View from the observation tower. Unfortunately, it's closed because some of the beams in the staircase are rotten and splintered.

The best time of year for heather is when it is in bloom. Also popular during mushroom season.

Extremely arduous journey - only for a long-suffering car!

Findlingspark Henzendorf not far from Reicherskreuz and is on the way to the heathland. Stones are interestingly painted and you can find interesting information on the information board.

The Reicherskreuzer Heide belongs to the Schlaubetal and is a real insider tip. It can easily keep up with the Lüneburg Heath. There are huge fields of heather including a lookout tower.... and of course absolute peace and quiet, because: there is hardly any tourism here. If you start from Reicherskreuz, you should take the Henzendorf boulder park with you. The great field stone houses in the village are also impressive.
