The gorge is the start of a strenuous but beautiful hike. However, you should not necessarily do the tour in mid-April. Lots of water and snow, especially under the snow. We went through with it anyway and have no regrets. But next time it would be better in the summer. Norway is just awesome, no matter what time of year.
