Set high above Solva Harbour entrance, Gribyn (Gribbin) is a promontory fort, thought to be Iron Age in origin. It was a somewhat pear-shaped enclosure, atop a narrow ridge. The views from here are outstanding, in all directions.

St Davids Airfield is a peaceful place, with skylarks in the air and surrounded by the yellow of flowering gorse. During World War Two St Davids Airfield was a different place, it had three runways from which bombers were flown on maritime patrols. The land around now is an SSSI including heath and wetland.
