May 7, 2024, Long Slang and Quarry Pool

As of May 2024 the bridge over the pool isn't crossable, so there's no north exit. The surrounding wood is very nice though

With its 56 acres of meadows, pools, trees and winding footpaths, Apley Woods are a fine example of a 19th century landscaped woodland.

Car Park A good base for different types of runs and bike tours These could include near by highlights of Granville Country Park, Aston Hill, Norbury Junction, Cosford For Aston Hill would use Wellington Road then Cycle Route 55 - on the old Trench road (this runs parallel to newer road) Hill Reps:- Run :- Up and Over the main hill (The hill from the car park has quite a steep section so best done on the West side) Run and Bike:- Around Hill - has a recovery down hill section and a good section of climb - that isn't too long (will post a route)- Will need a bike capable of coping with a very rough road section (gravel) Up and down to Lilyhurst Road (quite a challenge when doing reps)
