Apparently regarded as one of the most important UFO encounters in the world…

Rising to 278m, Cockleroy Hill features a trig point and offers breathtaking 360-degree views. It's located west of Beecraigs Country Park and stands as a prominent high point that can be included in a loop around the area. It was once a hillfort and its strategic position becomes clear when you reach the summit

This is our favourite MTB loops for a quick spin from our factory gates - perfect for a lunchtime blast using Livingston's amazing off-road paths and a couple of cheeky bits of singletrack either side of the main Edinburgh to Glasgow motorway. Look out for UFO landing site memorial stone and take a trip up Dechmont Law for great views across town to the Pentlands.

Cockleroy Hill at 278m has a trig point and stunning 360-degree views. I's a standalone high point to the west of Beecraigs country park and an ascent can be added to a loop of that area. This was historically a hill fort and when you're there it's obvious why the location was chosen.

Beecraigs is actually a reservoir built between 1914 - 1918 by German prisoners of war. It was used to supply drinking water but was decommissioned as a reservoir in 1972. It became part of Beecraigs country park in 1980 and is now a popular fishing and walking destination. The path around the edge of the loch is a nice short walk mostly under tree cover.
