August 7, 2026, Milkbank House Ruins

The ruins of Milkbank House nestling in the woods in a commanding position overlooking a sweeping bend of the Water of Milk. Built in the Scottish Baronial style, what remains is a heady mix of crow-stepped gables, turrets, hanging fireplaces and porte cochere (carriage porch).

Lockerbie is a bustling market town and a great example of a Scottish Borders town. Forever associated with the Lockerbie disaster, it's still a great place to stop in one of the many cafes or pubs for refreshment.

Excellent place to stop for drinks and food. Plenty of outside tables with canopies if the weather is good. Lovely courtyard setting.

Lovely views up and down the river from this wooden sleeper bridge.

An intruiging ruin, Milkbank House is a great example of Scots Baronial architecture. Reclaimed by nature, the site is now derelict and dangerous. By all means, look from afar but do not venture into the grounds.
