June 16, 2025, Pałac Lipskich w Lewkowie

The Lipski Palace in Lewków is one of the earliest examples of classicist architecture in Wielkopolska, built in the late 18th century according to the design of Jan Kamsetzer. The building impresses with its harmonious shape, rotunda garden hall and rich decoration - both on the elevations and in the interiors, where you can admire the illusionistic paintings of the Smuglewicz family. It is surrounded by a restored landscape park in the English style with a rosarium, pond and icehouse. Today, the palace serves as a museum and cultural centre, and thanks to its modern facilities, it is also a place for cultural events.

The church was built in the years 1844-1846. It was founded by a noblewoman, Salomea née Obiezierska, and her grandson, Wojciech Lipski. In the years 1898-1900, the polychromes in the presbytery, stucco wall coverings and a marble tabernacle were made (destroyed by the Germans during World War II and later rebuilt). In 1950, the church received three bells, and in the years 1949-1953 new plasters and electricity. In 1960 and 1976, it was repainted, and a thorough restoration was carried out in the years 1991-1992.

November 12, 2023, Mayor Rowiński's Table

Mayor Rowiński's table in Ostrów Wielkopolski was placed in 2009 on the Market Square, in front of the Town Hall. The mayor's figure is made of bronze cast. The table and the figure are life-size. The table was dedicated to Stefan Rowiński - mayor of Ostrów Wielkopolski in 1919-1920. He was a humanist, bookseller, politician, social activist and a great patriot.

The Town Hall stands in the middle of the Market Square. It was built in the years 1824-28 thanks to the patronage of Prince Antoni Radziwiłł according to the design of J. H. Haerbelin, an architect from the circle of Karl Friedrich Schinkel. During the reconstruction in 1862, the passage through the inner courtyard was closed. Reconstruction after the war damage, completed in 1948 and carried out according to the plans of architect Kazimierz Ulatowski, completely changed the appearance of the building. Renovated in 1977-87. It is a three-story building, built on a square plan with a small internal courtyard, secondarily roofed. The flat roofs are covered with an attic decorated with pinnacles. The façade is dominated by a turret with a pseudo-baroque dome and two lanterns. The clock with a chime inside comes from the second half of the 19th century. 19th century. Below the clock face there is the city's coat of arms. The facades - decorated with rustication on the ground floor - are crowned with a prominent crowning cornice. The main entrance leads through an arcade supporting a balcony with a stone balustrade. On its sides, on the facade wall, there are two plaques commemorating the liberation of the city from Nazi occupation and the fights of the Home Army units. Inside there is the Ostrów Wielkopolski City Museum and the Wedding Hall.

In summer, there are a lot of gardens around the square where you can drink coffee ☕, eat tasty 🍽️, and have a beer 🍺 or a drink 🍹 in the RETROSPEKCJA pub 😉
