The Bartsmühle is one of the most picturesque mills in the Fünfmühlental and a real eye-catcher for everyone passing by. The historic building is idyllically situated on the Mühlbach, surrounded by forest, meadows, and the quiet atmosphere of the narrow valley. Important to know: The Bartsmühle is privately owned. The property may not be entered – nevertheless, the mill can be wonderfully viewed from the path.

Today I finally managed to finish the Neckarsteig trail, which I started four years ago. The last leg from Gundelsheim to Bad Wimpfen was still missing. I started in Gundelsheim, first going to Guttenberg Castle. Unfortunately, dogs aren't allowed there, so I only looked from the outside and made a detour to the castle chapel, which was unfortunately closed, so I didn't get to see anything. I continued, first on wide forest roads, then on a short path, and then again on wide meadow paths past the Jewish cemetery to Heinsheim. The Jewish cemetery was established in the 16th century and at times was used by up to 25 Jewish communities between Eppingen, Mosbach, and Bad Wimpfen. 1152 gravestones have been preserved, dating from 1598 to 1937. During the Nazi regime, the cemetery was to be leveled and the gravestones put to "useful" use. Fortunately, this did not happen, but traces of willful desecration can still be seen today.
