If you follow the street toward the sea and slip into a small side alley on the right—just before you reach the main viewpoint over the beach—you’ll find a barely marked staircase leading down. At the bottom there’s a quiet little spot overlooking Praia dos Pescadores that most tourists miss because they keep walking straight ahead. It’s only a few steps away from the crowds, yet all you hear is the ocean and the sight of fishing boats resting in the bay. Tip: go early in the morning, and you’ll catch the sunrise over the Atlantic almost entirely to yourself, while the shops and cafés above are still closed.

There are 13 houses measuring 3 m x 3.80 m, made of Nordic pine, painted blue and white with asphalt green coverings. They were only built in 2023 to replace the dilapidated old houses. They provide a beautiful contrast to the red rocks.
